Today I am going to show you how to make adorable jewelry that starts with a trip to Home Depot!  What, you didn’t know that Home Depot carries jewelry?  Well neither did they!

To make these adorable washer necklaces you will need to gather the following supplies:

  • Flat Washers-I used 1 inch but any size will work
  • Scrapbooking paper
  • Necklace chain
  • Necklace Bails
  • Glossy Accents Clear dimensional Embellishment or Diamond glaze I found mine at JoAnne’s in the scrapbooking section
  • Sand paper
  • Exacto knife or a cricut

Step 1.  Trace your washer on the inside and outside

Step 2.  Cut out your circle with and exacto knife.  Don’t worry if it is not perfect.  You can use a little sandpaper to make the paper an exact fit once you have glued it down.  If you have a cricut and Sure Cuts Alot I used this to make a bunch of my circles in about 5 seconds.  I am not good with an exacto knife as you can see!

Step 3.  Apply a little bit of the glossy accents glue to the washer and adhere your paper circle.  Use the same glue to apply your bail if you have the glue on kind.  There are others you can use, if you want a different look.  You can find these in the beading section of craft stores.

Step 4.  Now apply a moderate amount of the glue to the entire surface of the washer and paper.  Don’t worry it won’t go of the edge.  Make sure you don’t shake your glue or you will get bubbles in your work.  If you do get a little bubble just use the tip to pull it off your project.  Now just let it dry.  If you want to make it reversible just follow the same steps for the other side in a coordinating paper, after it is dry of course.

Enjoy!
